Household Items You Can Use for your Workout

While everyone is staying at home all the time right now, you may be looking for ways in which you can get a workout in with what you have at home. The good news is that there are several household items that you can use for your workout. It can make your workout that much more fun by trying to find different items around your home that you can use.

Milk Jugs

Are you looking to increase how much you lift? Then use milk jugs that are full. A full gallon sized jug of milk weighs around 5 pounds which is great for giving you a good arm workout. Try to do these for 10 times, 2 reps each room to see results.

Laundry Detergent

Those laundry detergent bottles that you have can be a great dumbbell. Especially if you get the large 72 ounce bottles that often weigh around five pounds.

Stairs

If you have stairs in your home, then there is no need for a treadmill. You have the original stair climber. Go up these a few times and you will find that you burn a lot of calories. A person who walks up and down stairs for 30 minutes often burns 100 calories or more, depending on how fast they go. For those who cannot get outside, this type of exercise can also help to combat that cabin fever that you may have.

Chairs

You can use the chairs in your home to help with a full body workout. You can use this for dipping and working your arms. You can stand behind this and help to stabilize yourself for leg lifts. The ideas are really endless.

Step Stool

If you don’t have stairs, then find a step stool and use it for your workout. You will find that you can easily do a simple stepping exercise with this that helps to tone your legs and glutes.

Wear Fuzzy Socks and Grab Some Foam Plates

One of the exercises that you can do with your items at home is to help maintain your balance. Grab fuzzy socks and some foam plates, and slide around. You will be surprised at how many calories that this can burn. It is almost like you are ice skating as you are going to have to keep your balance and keep your muscles working.
