Home Workouts: Nail Your Fitness Like a Pro

Many people have been deprived of gym access this year as Covid-19 has shut down public spaces. However, lack of gym access is nothing new to a lot of people- whether you have a busy life, travel a lot, live remotely, or just aren’t that interested in attending a gym, portable training may be for you.

1: Assess your current fitness level

You will want a good idea of your baseline fitness going into training. This will allow you to keep things at your level whilst having some way of measuring your progress.

Things to measure before getting into a fitness regime include:

  • Your pulse rate- try taking it before and immediately after walking 1 mile (1.6 kilometers)
  • How long it takes to walk 1 mile, or how long it takes to run 1.5 miles (2.41 kilometers)
  • How many standard or modified pushups you can do at a time
  • How far you can reach forward while seated on the floor with your legs in front of you
  • Your waist circumference, just above your hipbones
  • Your body mass index

2: Get your kit together

Using the 30 Day Fitness App will mean you need minimal training equipment- no fancy machines or barbells are required to complete the workouts included. However, you will probably want to invest in a good pair of athletic shoes and some loose, comfortable clothing. You will also probably want any equipment that will help you measure your goals (scales and so on).

3: Work out your plan

This is fundamental to a good training schedule. Luckily, the 30 Day Fitness App does this for you. It will just ask you a few pertinent questions and then plan it all out.

4: Begin training

Using the 30 Day Fitness App

The 30 Day Fitness App is easy to set up. There is a step-by-step introduction when you log on for the first time, running through everything it will need in order to write you the appropriate fitness and diet plan for your goals- it’s a little bit like sitting down for a first consultation with a personal trainer.

It will first ask your gender, meaning that there are workout programs for men and women alike available (though workouts for men and women will look pretty similar- the same exercises work equally well for both!)

This will be followed closely by some questions about how you want your training to look- which body part you want to focus on, what your motivation is for working out, and so on. Then, after the usual set of biometrics and personal data- age, height and weight, activity levels, plus goal weight (all useful for working out your basal metabolic rate and so forth)- it simply works out a set of training plans.

There will be 30 workouts in each training plan, so, obviously, one each day for roughly a month. The training plans are nicely divided into groups that sound suitably like gym classes (Cardio Blast, Fat Burner, Early Bird, Lower Body Power, Six Pack, and so forth) and work sequentially to get you fitter and stronger, pushing yourself harder, as the month goes on.
