Easy Light Dessert To Eat Around Christmas Time

With Christmas time here, the desserts that you are going to see look scrumptious. However, for those who are trying to stick to their diet and fitness goals, these desserts can completely wreck your calorie count. The good news is that you can opt to eat desserts at Christmas that are light and super easy to make. They are going to be great for even those who do not care about their calorie intake.

Light Dessert Recipes for All Tastes

There are several recipes out there to choose from when wanting some easy and light during Christmas. Here are some of our favorites.

Strawberry and Kiwi Dessert

Ingredients:

  • 5 kiwis
  • 20 strawberries
  • 10 tablespoons of low fat whipped topping
  • Mint leaves to garnish

Directions:

Slice up the fruit and divide this among small glass bowls. Then place the whipped topping on top and garnish with mint leaves. Leave this refrigerated until ready to eat.

Christmas Parfait

Ingredients:

  • 300 ml of cream
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 12 meringues
  • 400 g of minced fruit
  • 2 cups of strawberries
  • 1 bunch of mint leaves
  • ¼ cup of honey

Directions:

Whip the cream until this takes shape. Then mix the eggs, salt and sugar and beat this until it starts to form stiff peaks. Mix this with the cream and half of the meringues. Put half the mixture into a pan, then top with the remaining meringues. And place the rest of the cream mixture on top. Let this refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Then cut and put into a bowl, adding on top the strawberries and drizzled honey.

Easy Christmas Pudding Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 150 g of mixed dried fruit
  • ½ cup of brandy
  • ½ tsp of mixed spice
  • 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream
  • 1 orange juiced and zested

Directions:

Put the mixed fruit into a bowl and pour in the brandy and the orange juice and zest over this. Allow this to soak for a few hours or overnight. Remove the ice cream from the freezer and allow this to soften slightly, then mix in the fruit mixture. Add in the mixed spice and stir. Then put this into bowls to serve.
