National Coffee Day: Let’s Learn More!

Do you enjoy having a nice cup of coffee in the morning before you start your day? Or maybe you are one of those people that enjoy a cup of dark coffee mid-afternoon in order to keep going? Maybe coffee is your cup of zen each day. Whatever the reason, you are not alone as there are tons of people who are drinking coffee. So much so that this has resulted in National Coffee Day!

National Coffee Day: What Is It?

National Coffee Day is a day to celebrate coffee. Not only are you celebrating just how great coffee tastes, but it is also a day to look at all that goes into making coffee. The workers in the fields, those in the businesses who are figuring out new flavors that are on the market, and the like. It is all about coffee and the beans that go into making this coffee! It is a day to truly understand what you are putting into your body.

Pros and Cons of Coffee

With National Coffee Day right around the corner, there are those who believe that coffee is great for you, and those who do not agree with those who drink coffee. There are pros and cons of coffee that everyone needs to realize. Some of the benefits of drinking coffee:

  • There have been studies that are stating that drinking coffee can help to protect you against heart disease.
  • Studies show that coffee can lower the risk of stroke.
  • Coffee can help to risk the development of type 2 diabetes.
  • It can help to regulate your digestive track
  • There are some studies that are showing that coffee can help reduce some of the cancers that are out there.
  • You will find that it can help you burn fat.
  • Did you know that coffee drinkers often have less cavities?!
  • For those who have a stress headache, the caffeine in coffee can help to stop this pain.

With this being said, there are some cons to drinking coffee as well. These cons include:

  • Too much coffee does cause dehydration if you are not careful.
  • You will find that stomach ulcers can develop in those who are drinking several cups of coffee per day.
  • You will find that the chances of having heartburn increase dramatically when drinking coffee.
  • You will find that more coffee can actually raise your stress levels.
