New Year’s Eve Food Ideas You Should Try

The New Year is right around the corner, and many people are planning on small celebrations with some great food. For those who are looking for easy food ideas that are not going to take a lot of time yet pack a punch in taste, we have several for you to give a try.

Easy New Year’s Eve Party Food

Crock Pot Bourbon Bacon Meatballs

Ingredients:

  • Frozen meatballs, 1 package
  • ½ pound of Bacon cooked and pieced in half
  • 1 cup of BBQ sauce
  • 3 tbsp of Maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp of Bourbon
  • pinch of dried chili peppers

Directions:

Mix together the BBQ sauce, maple syrup, bourbon and chili peppers. In a slow cooker, place the frozen meatballs. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and cook for 2 to 3 hours, stir once or twice during this time. Let them cool. Then on a skewer place one meatball, one piece of bacon folded over and another meatball. Enjoy! Looking to turn this into a meal, mix the cooked meatballs and bacon together and serve over rice.

Caramel Apple Grapes

Ingredients:

  • 50 seedless green grapes, washed and dried
  • 1 cup of caramel bits
  • 2 tbsp of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of salted peanuts or cashews, crushed fine
  • Toothpicks

Directions:

Poke a toothpick into each of the grapes and set aside. On medium-low heat, combine the caramel and heavy cream. Stir until melted, then keep this warm. Dip the grapes into the caramel mixture, and then into the crushed nuts. Then place on a plate. Repeat this until all the grapes have been done.

Vegan Spinach Dip

Ingredients:

  • 400 grams of soft tofu
  • 100 grams of cashew nuts – soak these in ¾ cup of water overnight then drain before starting this recipe
  • 25 grams of nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • 260 grams of spinach
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 100 grams of diced water chestnuts
  • paprika for seasoning

Directions:

Add the tofu, soaked cashews, yeast, vinegar and salt into a bowl with a high speed blender. Form a smooth puree of these products. Wash the spinach and chop off the roots if needed. Then place this spinach into boiling water and boil for one to two minutes, and drain. Be sure to squeeze the extra water out of the spinach. Chop this into small pieces. Then add the oil, onion and garlic into a pan and sauté over medium high heat. Add the water chestnuts and spinach, continue to sauté. Then add the puree into this and stir constantly to heat this all together. Add salt to taste. Dust this with paprika and then serve with veggies, chips or bread.
