Water: Why You Should Drink More

It's one of the essential elements your body needs to survive. Without it, the body does not function. It is a critical factor in good health, nutrition, and overall well-being. Water. Can you get by drinking just enough? Yes. But drink more, and you will find that you function more efficiently physiologically, physically, and mentally.

While other beverages may be okay to drink, to ensure your body is as healthy as it can be, pure water should be the number one beverage of choice.

Benefits of Water for Your Health

Water is beneficial in so many ways. By just increasing your water intake to the minimum recommended 3.7 liters daily for men and 2.7 liters daily for women, you may soon realize the following benefits.

Keep in mind, you may need to increase the amount of water you consume depending on the physical environment in which you live, and your specific body type. Start with the minimum and add more ounces from there if needed.

Healthy Luminous Skin

Adequate water intake means your skin cells are well hydrated. The result is softer, more youthful looking skin. Plenty of water assists skin cell function, allowing them to rid themselves of toxins that can affect the skin's appearance.

Removes Toxins from the Body

Inadequate water intake means your kidneys won't be able to flush out toxins from your body efficiently. It can also result in painful kidney stones that form as a consequence of protein build-up caused by inadequate hydration levels.

Increased Energy

Water intake directly affects your energy levels. Drink too little, and you may notice feeling sluggish, tired, and run down. Drink considerably more, and you'll find you have more energy and stamina to get things done throughout your day. Your mood will improve as well since fatigue will no longer be a factor working against you.

Optimal Digestive Health

The digestive system is hypersensitive to water intake levels. It needs plenty of water to process food and eliminate waste from your body. If you don't drink enough, your digestive system may slow down, resulting in constipation, discomfort, and lethargy.

Quick Workout Recovery

The benefits of water include optimal post workout recovery. The process of exercise uses a lot of water through sweat to keep your body temperature regulated. Post-workout, water is needed to help flush out toxins created while exercising. Drink plenty of water, and you'll find your body recovers more efficiently from each workout.
