When you are working out and doing cardio, do you find yourself becoming winded? Or maybe you start suffering the awful stitch in your side that makes you want to quit? These are normal, especially for those who do not have as much cardio endurance. Even those who strength train on a daily basis may not have cardio endurance. So, how do you get better cardio endurance?
There are several ways in which you can increase your cardio endurance so that the next time you are doing something that requires cardio activity, you do not feel as though your legs are going to fall off or that you are going to topple over from exhaustion.
1: Increase Your Activity Level
For those who only do cardio every now and then, the key to building your endurance is to increase the cardio activity that you are doing. If you are walking half a mile a day, try to increase this to one mile a day. You are not going to improve your cardio endurance if you are just sitting on the couch.
If you are working out and doing your cardio exercises then keep pushing yourself harder. If you are one of those people who walk on a treadmill while reading a book, why not put the book down and increase the speed. You will find that this can be a great way to increase your endurance and get into better shape faster!
Interval training is one of those cardio exercises that is going to get you results as fast as possible! Interval training allows you to go hard at an exercise for 30 to 60 seconds, and then allot a rest period before the next hard core exercise. It is great for those looking to improve their cardio endurance because it does have that rest period in between exercises.
For those who are serious about increasing their cardio endurance, then be sure that you set some goals. You can start with a small goal such as going a longer distance in the same amount of time that you did before. Or maybe even making a goal of doing your cardio task for just a few minutes longer than usual.
Cardio endurance will take time to develop, but it can be done with a little hard work.
