  • Kombucha has been shown to reduce the levels of cholesterol that is linked to heart disease.
  • Kombucha has been shown to help in fighting off infections due to the fermenting process.

While kombucha has tons of health benefits to those who drink it, there are side effects that need to be listed for those who take in too much kombucha. After all, even too much of a good thing can be an issue for people. Some of these risks include:

  • It can greatly increase how many calories you are taking in daily. There are tons of kombucha teas on the market and some of these are super high in calories. For those who are watching their calorie intake, a bottle or two of this could throw you off completely.
  • Consuming too much kombucha can cause bloating and other digestive distress despite its benefit to gut health.
  • Kombucha does contain some caffeine in some cases, so for those who take in too much of this, they could risk taking in too much caffeine.
